CII R06 (also written RO6) · Financial Planning Practice
R06 is the CII's written case study exam, testing your ability to apply financial planning knowledge to real client scenarios. Unlike R01–R05, there is no multiple choice — you must write structured answers under timed conditions. It is widely considered the most challenging R0 module.
Difficulty Level
HardR06 is widely considered the hardest R0 module. It requires strong written communication, client-focused analysis, and the ability to apply knowledge from R01–R05 under exam pressure. The 55% pass mark reflects the higher difficulty.
R06 should be attempted last, after completing R01–R05. It draws on knowledge from all other modules and tests application rather than recall.
